We have been seeing a slow progression to what we know about the Ezekiel 38 War. All along we knew that Russia is an agitation pushing for world dominance. Of course, Iran has long been in the headlines for terrorists and threats against the US and Israel. But as of late with the Iranian war, we see that perhaps Iran is slipping into her third-place position, as listed in Ezekiel 38:5. Though, the threat will never go away. And, sadly, Iran will not be defeated as our administration hopes. God is in control of that and not the US or Israel.
For some time, Turkey has been rather quiet, although still showing a hostile attitude to a once welcomed guest. That being Israel. Turkey has been restrained because it is a NATO member. Therefore, Turkey cannot fully support Iran, i.e., militarily, because of the so-called rules of NATO. But things are changing.
According to a recent article in The Jerusalem Post (July 2026), Turkey is now emerging as Israel’s biggest threat in the Middle East. President Erdogan is now wanting a Sunni ring to surround Israel. Remember, Iran is Shiite and though the two religious sects are at odds with each other over their future successive leader, Turkey is the more dominant country in Ezekiel 38, being Meschech, Tubal, Gomer, and Beth-togarmah (vs2, 6), as many prophecy teachers believe.
Furthermore, in another article in The Jerusalem Post (July 2026), Turkey is wanting the US to lift military sanctions against Turkey citing that “there should be no restrictions between allies.” That is clever on the side of Turkey knowing that it will eventually turn against the US and NATO in the cooperative invasion of Israel as we read in Ezekiel 38. However, it is not really Turkey, it is our sovereign God Who said that it would happen and He will align the invading countries per His will and use man to do it.
God will put the “hooks into thy jaws” (v4) to cause the countries to turn from their plans to His to invade Israel. So, where is the US in all this? There has been much discussion from the prophecy world. Many say that the US plays no role in this war. Some say that the US is quietly protesting on the sidelines (v13). Either way, God picks the nations that He wants to use for His purpose. We are to read and watch and understand.
Still, too many pulpits are silent as the Church slumbers through these end times.
