Will Catholics be Raptured?

The easy answer to that question is an emphatic, “No!”

Too many of today’s solid prophecy teachers who believe that Rome is the future Babylon of Revelation almost get apologetic over that question.  Some seem so afraid to hurt feelings that they compromise on that issue by saying something like, “Well, we hope some Catholics are saved”, or “I believe that there are Catholics who are truly saved and will go to heaven.” No, no, no!  If a Catholic is truly a Catholic and believes as Catholics are supposed to believe, then that Catholic is not saved by grace. So, here is another question: Why would our sovereign God save someone in a cult only to have them remain in that same cult?

We do not need a Roman Catholic history lesson here.  But there are a few points that people need to understand about the Roman Catholic beliefs and teachings that totally disqualify it from being any type of Christian denomination.  And this certainly is not a reflection on the good people that claim the name of Catholic.  There are no doubt good and sincere Catholics who contribute positively to society.  But salvation is not based on being good and/or sincere.  It is based on the Blood of Jesus Christ Who shed His Blood for the elect of God, who were regenerated unto salvation by the Holy Spirit (John 3:8, Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5).

Here are just a few points:

  • The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) decided on their own that the Ten Commandments given by God to Moses needed correction. They changed the Second Commandment from “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image” to falsely read, “You shall not take the name of the Lord in vain.” It is obvious why they changed that. The RCC is full of statues to bow down and pray to and to pay homage. And they mixed-and-matched the others as they saw fit.
  • They have their people call the priests, “Father.”  That is a violation of what Jesus Christ said in Matthew 23:9, “And call no man your Father upon earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”  The RCC is trying to usurp authority from God.
  • According to Catholic Answers, the Vicar of Christ is “a title of the pope implying his supreme and universal primacy, both of honor and jurisdiction over, the church of Christ.”  Although the RCC, et al, attempt at calling themselves, Vicar, by definition the Vicar of Christ is the Holy Spirit (John 14:16).  Again, the RCC is trying to usurp authority over, or replace the God of the Bible.  And God is sovereign, not the pope.
  • They claim that through their Mass, that the wafer and wine literally become, through transubstantiation, Jesus Christ.  In other words, they claim to have the power and authority to change the elements and re-sacrifice the Lord Jesus Christ at each and every Mass held throughout the world and at any time.  But what does the Bible say? John 19:30 says, “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished…”  What was finished?  It was His sacrifice for the elect, that never needed repeating.  And Hebrews 10:12 adds, “But this man (Christ Jesus), after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God.”  Yet, the RCC says that what He did once was not efficacious enough. They call God a liar every time they perform the blasphemous Mass.
  • The RCC teaches that water baptism is needed for salvation and the cleansing of sins.  Baptism may be needed for an outward profession of faith, but it is not needed for or contributes to salvation in any way.  Salvation is by grace when God gives us the regenerative faith to believe. The RCC deceives people into thinking that any type of works, i.e. baptism, confession, attending Mass, etc., is needed to be saved.  Baptism in the RCC only deceives people to have them believe in any type of eternal security and keeps them tethered to the RCC.
  • They do not worship the same God or Jesus that is in the Bible.  They worship the saints of old. They worship Mary.  They worship shrines.
  • They have made Mary a co-redemptrix which is blasphemy.  The Bible says in First Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus…” That eliminates Mary. That eliminates the saints. That eliminates anything outside the Triune God.  The RCC deceives and lies.
  • The RCC is a cult within a cult.  They worship statues and idols.  They bow down to false priests. The bow down to wafers and wines.  They bow down to altars.  They deceive to control the people.
  • Etc.

The most famous Rapture passage is found in First Thessalonians 4:16, 17.  It reads, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ (my bold) shall rise first: then we which remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”  One of the keys to that verse identifies who will be resurrected and who will be Raptured.  It is the bolded “in Christ.” This will be a resurrection since they are dead.  But the “in Christ” also applies to the “we which are alive.”   Only Christians alive at that time will be Raptured. No one who holds to Roman Catholic doctrine and beliefs is saved by grace.  Therefore, they are not “in Christ.”  And they will miss the resurrection or the Rapture. This is what some of the prophecy teachers should be saying, instead of their compromising view.

…and all of that also applies to our necromancer-in-charge, Vice President JD Vance, who has boasted of his conversion to Roman Catholicism.
